Abu Dhabi DED @ Hannover Fair

2LK Design overcame massive logistical and travel disruption from the Icelandic ash clouds this month to deliver a stunning pavilion solution for Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development at Hannover Fair 2010 – the world’s leading exhibition for industrial technology, held annually in Germany.

Incorporating 16 partner companies from Abu Dhabi under the brand of Abu Dhabi, 2LK provided a full turnkey solution including hospitality, catering, logistics, stand staff, merchandising (including UAE sourced traditional gifts), graphic design and digital content.

The design took influence from the iconic Sheikh Zayed Bridge in its architectural exterior. An open and transparent fascia was the feature of the stand, designed to reflect Abu Dhabi traditions of welcome. Traditional Arabic patterns, shapes and script text were also used as a motif for graphics and signage concepts.

Visitors could approach any of the partner companies before moving into the main space for detailed conversation and hospitality in the seating areas or in the stunning Majlis private meeting area.

2LK Design utilised it’s new office in Abu Dhabi for day to day logistics with all design and creative work handled from its UK base, prior to transferring to Germany for the installation.
