Technical Designer

The role:

  • Working with the production department and studio to draw the technical plans for 2LK projects.  
  • Drafting buildable plans of the creative models, renders and visuals produced by the studio team. 
  • Projects cover a wide range of trade show stands, experiential activations and events ranging in size from 9m2 to 4000m2 
  • Forming good relationships with contractors, working alongside them to find creative ways to deliver cleverly engineered solutions 
  • Importing contractor’s drawings to maintain accuracy of 2LK’s drawing packs. 
  • Producing a range of plans ranging in type from overall floor plans to detail drawings. 
  • Maintaining drawing standards across all 2LK, producing elegant and clear technical plans incorporating venue/organiser regulations in conjunction with project managers.

Skills / Experience: 

Strong skills in technical design and 2D and 3D CAD work, preferably Vectorworks but other packages considered if the candidate has a willingness to transfer these skills to Vectorworks 

Experience and understanding of other creative packages (Adobe CC, 3DSMax) and Microsoft office is desirable.  

Role is office based in Farnham, UK. International travel to meet contractors and see build sites will be available and occasionally required. 

Experience in the exhibitions industry is desirable but not essential.  

Skills / Experience:
The right candidate will have 2-5 years in the exhibitions industry. Supplementary experience in experiential or events and a technical or business-related education are desirable. Experience and good knowledge of Excel and Word are essential. Experience of Vectorworks, Adobe CC and general knowledge and understanding of technology and AV are desirable. Speaking a foreign language also desirable.
